Metrojet is pleased to announce the appointment of Björn Näf as Chief Executive Officer. Björn is a Swiss national and has spent the last ten years in senior management positions in Switzerland, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Prior to joining Metrojet, Björn worked for Gulf Air in Bahrain where he was their Chief Executive Officer. During the last ten months he was Executive Advisor to the CEO of LOT Polish Airlines in Warsaw, Poland.
His aviation career began as a pilot at the Regional Airline Crossair in Switzerland in 1991, where in addition he served as a manager in various departments. Björn’s last position with Crossair and subsequently with Swiss International Air Lines was Executive Vice President Product and Services where he was a member of the Airline’s Executive Board. In 2004 he joined Transafrik International Airlines in Kenya as CEO before he changed to Gulf Air in 2007.
Björn finished the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program (HBS AMP) in 2003 and received an Executive Management Diploma from the IMD in Switzerland (IMD AEDP) in September 2010.
