METROJET SPONSORS HKU ENGINEERING STUDENTS ON MODEL AIRCRAFT COMPETITION

Congratulations to The University of Hong Kong Design, Build & Fly (HKU DBF) teams on winning the 2022 British Model Fly Association University and Schools Payload Challenge 5!

Since December 2021, Metrojet sponsored the HKU DBF team, a group of students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, in making their own unmanned, electric-powered and radio-controlled aircraft from scratch. With the guidance of the university teaching professionals, the DBF team sent two groups of students to the UK for taking part in the 2022 British Model Fly Association University and Schools Payload Challenge 5. Both teams demonstrated excellent model aircraft building skills which contributed to a very smooth flying performance in the competition and brought them the honour of winning the Champion and the 1st runner-up in June!

Metrojet hopes by supporting the local students in flying/mechanical engineering-related activities, their interests in aviation will reach as high as their aircraft could and be valuable players in the future industry.
