DIRECTOR, FLIGHT OPERATIONS (Hong Kong Based)

This role reports to the Managing Director, Aircraft Management and Charter (MD, AMC) to develop and implement policies that will ensure the safe, effective, efficient, customer focused and economical operation of managed aircraft, and to lead and manage the Flight Operations Department, including the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) with the highest safety and quality standards.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • The Accountable Manager of Flight Operations and any AOC’s held by the Company;
    • Ensure the overall operational and financial performance of the Flight Operations department including flight crew training standards;
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures and systems, as appropriate, in support of aircraft operations, and keep them under continuous review;
    • Advise the MD, AMC on all matters relating to Flight Operations safety and operating standards, including the budget implications of any operational issues;
    • Supervise the general conduct of all flights undertaken by the Company and ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s AOC, OM and other appropriate regulatory requirements;
    • Act as the first point of contact with regulatory agencies in respect of regulatory compliance issues;
    • Maintain a close, effective and regular liaison with different internal departments and external parties, e.g. relevant government departments, ICAO, other airlines, IATA, IBAC, NBAA, AsBAA, aircraft and engine manufacturers, suppliers of goods and services to the Company;
    • Work closely with all members of the Flight Operations department, especially immediate subordinates, so as to be able to provide regular mentoring and feedback about individual performance;
    • Manage the operational aspects of the introduction to service of new aircraft and the introduction to service of new aircraft types;
    • Manage the recruitment and professional development of flight crew and cabin crew;
    • Ensure that the FTL Scheme reflects both the regulatory and Company requirements and provide the Manager IOC with any interpretations of the FTL Scheme that may be necessary;
    • Carry out duties in the event of an aircraft accident or incident in accordance with the requirements of the Company’s Operations Manual and Emergency Response Plan;
    • Maintain own competence as a Pilot in Command on one or more aeroplane types in the Company fleet.
    • Develop and submit an annual budget for the Flight Operations Department

    Job Requirements:

    • Holding a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, economics or aviation management.
    • International experience and orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultural boundaries.
    • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the aviation industry preferably with flight operations management experience in senior positions.
    • Regional experience in aircraft management and charter.
    • ATPL qualified and business aviation experience preferred
    • An unblemished professional record
    • Detail minded, excellent management skills, strong business acumen
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English are essential.
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

      Officer, Client Services (Flight Dispatch)

      The role is to act as a contact interface between client and Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) to take ownership of the flight trip planning, co-ordination, execution, and be responsible for ensuring the satisfactory delivery of services, for all flight trip requests from internal and external clients.

        Job Responsibilities:

        • Be the first point of contact between client and Metrojet flight operations services.
        • Respond to all client messages providing solutions to specific enquiries, new flight reservation requests and changes on the existing reservations, in a prompt, consultative, personalized and efficient way in order to guarantee that the client needs are met and/or exceeded.
        • Coordinate with Lead Captains (LC) on assigning flight crew.
        • Monitor crew Flight Duty Period (FDP), rest and day off requirements to ensure compliance with the FTL scheme and also check crew qualifications, training records, license and landing recency to ensure operations excellence.
        • Liaise with Flight Operations management for a replacement plan regarding crewing issue.
        • Submit all trip information via flight scheduling system to ensure relevant information is passed to related parties.
        • Liaise with vendors for operational information of destination and alternate airports, Flight Information Regions (FIR) and air routes.
        • Coordinate with Pilot in Command (PIC) for aircraft ground handling requirements, as well as crew logistical support including hotel, ground transportation and repositioning.
        • Monitor vendor’s services to ensure successful operation of flights, and follow up progress throughout the trip.
        • Coordinate with client for flight related service requirements including hotel, ground transportation, catering and passenger handling.
        • Liaise with client over itinerary changes, latest passenger lists and any additional information required during the trip.
        • Provide updates of trip arrangements to client from time to time.

        Job Requirements:

        • Minimum 3 years of aviation experience; experience in Corporate jet is an advantage
        • Holder of Bachelor’s Degree or above
        • Holder of FAA dispatcher certificate is an advantage
        • Proficiency in managing charter flights is an advantage
        • Proficiency in flight scheduling system, FOS is preferred
        • A thorough knowledge of Flight Time Limitations (FTLs)
        • Experience of managing high-volume of plan/ schedule and ability to work shift
        • Detailed minded, meticulous, proactive, strong problem-solving skills
        • Able to make decision, work independently and highly motivated
        • Strong client servicing and communication skills, both in English and Chinese

        Officer, Accounting

        The primary responsibility of this position is to provide all finance related supports in a way to make sure the smooth and accurate accounting record to achieve objectives being set out by the senior management.

          Job Responsibilities:

          • Provide daily accounting support including preparation of client’s invoices, credit notes, cheques, payment and receipts, journal voucher and general ledger
          • Resolve disputed invoices via collaboration with external parties and internal teams
          • Ensure timely processing of payments and claims and manage all bank & cash operations
          • Prepare accounting reports, including but not limited to cash flow forecast, statistical report and other reports as required by the management
          • Accountable for resolving accounting and operational matters connected with project management and client’s request
          • Follow up the overdue accounts
          • Assist in month-end and year-end closing & reporting
          • Assist in external audit
          • Recommend any process improvement opportunities for efficiency, control & compliance enhancement
          • Any ad hoc assignments as deemed necessary from direct manager.

          Job Requirements:

          • Holder of Diploma or degrees above in Accounting or related disciplines
          • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience in a commercial firm
          • Aviation industry knowledge is a plus
          • Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and knowledgeable in SAP is preferable
          • Able to communicate in both spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
          • Mature, independent and able to work with minimum supervision

          Accountant

          This role is to help Finance Manager present true and fair view of our company’s financial data and to assist our businesses units to make informed decisions by collecting, tracking, correcting, and communicating the financial performances of the Company.

            Key Accountabilities:

              Accounting:

              • Management of accounting records
              • Review of the final sales invoice from Corridor
              • Assure accounting records are well prepared, maintained and reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
              • Perform the monthly financial reporting and management reporting for MEC.
              • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses, reporting in to the Metrojet corporate office.
              • Responsible for payment to suppliers/vendors, staff payroll and statutory payments and ensuring the practice and procedure comply with local regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
              • Review and implement necessary operational processes in accordance with business needs, statutory and company standards, reporting in to the Metrojet corporate office.
              • Work closely with the Maintenance and Sales teams to comply with the cost/profit margin of work order and resolve any invoicing and collection issues, including disputes from customer and/or OEM.
              • Monitor credit control and debt collections on outstanding invoices and administer all other treasury functions.
              • Lead and responsible for financial audits of MEC.
              • Prepare and monitor annual and periodic budgets.
              • Management of working capital and other funds.
              • Liaise with external parties, including banks, related government departments and commercial bureau in relations to any financial or compliance matters.
              • Manage and maintain proper filing system for company documents, including but not limited to financial statements, tax, leasing agreements and staff personal file, in compliance with the local statutory requirements and corporate standards.
              • Initiate and develop any systems, processes or policies that are required for the proper and efficient performance of the finance function. Collaborate with the corporate office for any system and policy implementation..
              • Lead, manage and coach staff for team performance.

              Job Requirements

                Education:

                • Degree holder in Accountancy
                • Qualified Accountant
                • Experience:

                  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial accounting; industry experience in aviation is a plus.
                  • Specific Competencies, Skills and Knowledge:

                    • Strong business acumen and communication skills
                    • Excellent command of spoken and written English
                    • Proficient in IT, especially Excel (Macro) spreadsheet skills and knowledgeable in using accounting software, preferably SAP and Concur
                    • Well versed in local statutory rules and regulations in accounting and tax practices
                    • Able to work independently
                    • Well organized, detail-minded and results oriented
